The details of this Sample Design, including all the parameters used to generate it, are included below. Sample designs must belong to a Study Plan.
This Design was developed as part of the AIM strategy to assess Land Use Plan/Resource Management Plan effectiveness. Includes only points on all perennial BLM streams and rivers in the Winnemucca BLM District office. Previously assessed points from the NV statewide and WRSA projects 2013-2015 will be used as a user sampled to ensure spatial balance of new points aroung locations we have visited previously. These location include non-target (e.g., dry sites), inaccessible, and sampled sites. See the AIM strategy to understand our rejection criteria (reason a point is not sampled).

Area of Inference
This sample design is based on master sample: Bureau of Land Management Lotic
Details of this master sample:
- Source: U.S. Bureau of Land Management
- # of sites: 67033
- Type: Linear Master Sample
This sample design started with an initial frame of 67,033 sites, based on its master sample. The criteria (based on the master sample's attributes) were then used to refine the sample frame down to 2,171 sites:
|BLM District||Is Equal To||Winnemucca District||OR|
|BLM District||Is Equal To||Winnemuccca District|
All perennial streams and rivers on BLM land within the Winnemcca District Office.
Below is a list of User Samples from which this design is drawing sites.
Panel designs can help address sampling objectives by increasing the total number of samples at a lower overall cost. A common panel structure involves one or more panels with a high revisit frequency (e.g. an “Annual” panel), and other panels with a lower revisit frequency (e.g. a three year “Rotating” panel).
|Panel||Sampling Occasion (1 Year(s))|
|#||Panel Name||Panel Abbr.||1|
This design uses the following attributes to create the stratification shown below. Each row in the table represents a stratum. This design’s panels are also shown in the table, even if it uses only a single, default panel.
|Attribute||Values In Frame|
|ADMU_ADMU_NAME||2 Values: Black Rock Field Office, Humboldt River Field Office|
|Stream_Order_Group||3 Values: Large Streams (3&4), Rivers (5+), Small Streams (1&2)|
|Attributes||# Sites In Frame||Frame Length (km)||Stratum Attributes||Panels|
|ADMU_ADMU_NAME||Stream_Order_Group||Stratum Name||Stratum Abbr.||2019|
|Black Rock Field Office||Large Streams (3&4)||162||0||Black Rock Field Office-Large Streams (3&4)||B-LS||9|
|Black Rock Field Office||Rivers (5+)||15||0||Black Rock Field Office-Rivers (5+)||B-RV||3|
|Black Rock Field Office||Small Streams (1&2)||343||0||Black Rock Field Office-Small Streams (1&2)||B-SS||19|
